Treehouse Artist April 5, 2024 - July 1, 2024

Beca Escobedo.

Hi, my name is Rebeca Escobedo, but everyone calls me Beca. I was born in Nochistlan, Zacatecas, Mexico, and migrated to the Central Valley when I was 4 years old. I’m a multimedia artist, who mostly works with acrylics and fabric. For this current series of work, I chose to create fabric tiles inspired by the “azulejos de talavera” found across different regions of Mexico. These tiles resonate with me because of the bright colors that remind me of my childhood and the memories of visiting home every summer. You can find more of my work on Instagram @Soulbextion, or visit my shared art studio (River Studio 116) in the Tannery Arts Center.

For inquiries or potential collaborations, the artist welcomes you to reach out on Instagram @soulbextion
