Madison Wanamaker is an artist and art instructor residing in the enchanting Redwoods of Santa Cruz, California. 

With a background in Fine Art and a life long passion for classical literature, mythology, folklore, and the natural world, Wanamaker’s personal artistic practice plays with the eternal relevance of these subjects. Through the mediums of watercolor, ink, and clay, Wanamaker re-weaves timeless narratives that explore the universal themes of life, death, joy, sorrow, and the ephemeral nature of existence. Drawing inspiration from the Latin phrase (and her self proclaimed personal creed) Memento mori or ‘remember that you [have to] die’ which serves as a poignant reminder of our mortality, her work invites viewers to reflect on life’s briefness in order to better appreciate the everyday magic around us.
